Geosciences in the Media Award
The Geosciences in the Media Award is given to a person in recognition of notable journalistic achievement in any medium which contributes to public understanding of geology, energy resources, or the technology of oil and gas exploration. This award is open to members and non-members.

Guidelines for Consideration
The Geosciences in the Media Award is given to a person in recognition of notable journalistic achievement in any medium which contributes to public understanding of geology, energy resources, or the technology of oil and gas exploration by:
- Demonstrated journalism in the Geosciences.
- Contributions to the public understanding of geology, energy resources, and the technology of oil and gas exploration
- Samples of their work.
- Self Nominations require letters of support
Restrictions
This award is open to both RMAG and Non-RMAG members.
Procedures for Recommendation
Geosciences in the Media Award is open for both nominations and self application. Narrative answers to the questions in the application and samples of their work. The jury is not required to award the application every year regardless of the number of applicants.

Jury Convenes: Mid November 2025
Applications Notified: December 2025
Recipients Recognized: Rockbusters Ball 2026
Recognition
Recipients of the Distinguished Service to RMAG Award will receive recognition in RMAG publications, at the Rockbuster's Ball, and a physical award.
