Speakers: Liz Arthur & Rekha Patel
Hosted & Moderated by Susan Nash
About the talk
COVID-19 and the oil price collapse have made working remotely on complex projects with distributed team members a necessity. Further, the need to cut costs, assure safety, and to optimize operations have caused a surge in demand for cloud-based applications. The setting is ideal for entrepreneurship because creative solutions are embraced, now more than ever.
Join us to learn about the multi-faceted nature of technology. It's not just about programming, but about facilitating teamwork and being able to work with data in powerful, new ways.
About the speakers
I grew up and spent most of my life in San Antonio, TX enjoying the hill country, a big family, and true Tex-Mex. After attending school at Stephen F. Austin State University to study Vocal Music and Education, I fell into working as a landman the end of school and opportunities opened. I worked at Chesapeake Energy in Oklahoma City for 7 years as a Landman before moving to Denver in 2013. I then decided to make a career change to the petrophysics and geology side of the industry with Weatherford Laboratories, later Stratum Reservoir, as the Western U.S. Sales Manager. In July I made the leap out of the industry I had loved for 15 years into tech, as a Senior Account Manager for the Department of Energy with AWS, specifically their national labs in the Western US.
My favorite ways to spend any spare time is to enjoy my son, Kane, hiking the Rockies, boxing or crossfit, and enjoying live music or singing anywhere I can.
