Continuing Education Committee

The Continuing Education Committee is responsible for delivering professional education programming to RMAG members and the entire geoscience community in the Rocky Mountain region and beyond. Committee members coordinate a variety of educational events throughout the year, including luncheon speakers, short courses, core workshops, and symposia or conference presentations.

Annually, the committee organizes all monthly luncheons and coordinates additional programming with a goal of hosting several short courses and at least one symposium or conference per year. Topics range from traditional oil and gas to emerging opportunities in transitional energy. In 2026 were working on the luncheon calendar, two one day symposiums (One on USGS research and one on the Mowry). We’re also open to new ideas—what programming would you like to see?

Beyond a monthly meeting, the committee thrives on the ideas and networks of its members. Do you have a core workshop you’d like to see organized? A conference where you could help bring together speakers? A luncheon topic you think would be valuable to the local geoscience community? Join the committee and help us build RMAG’s programming. Our staff will be there to help execute your vision.
