Membership Committee

The Membership Committee is focused on creating a sense of community for all RMAG members, this committee provides networking opportunities, both large and small, and organizes fundraising events for the association. The committee meets monthly to plan and organize events that focus less on the technical aspects and more on the social side. Its primary goal is to recruit and engage members of all ages.

Every month, the committee hosts RMAG Coffee and Happy Hours, and annually, they help plan and organize the RMAG Golf Tournament and the Rockbusters Ball. In 2025, the committee is planning more family-friendly events, including a gold panning activity and a hiking series designed for kids. They are also in the early stages of organizing a friendly competition event, such as volleyball or cornhole, for members. Additionally, the committee is always seeking innovative ways to recruit new members and will be rolling out incentives for current members to invite their non-member friends and colleagues to RMAG events. Next year, we’re also planning to launch our inaugural career fair, based here in the Rockies.

Committee members are expected to attend the monthly meetings and dedicate a few hours each month to tasks like securing sponsorships for events, brainstorming ideas, and assisting with event execution. RMAG staff is here to support your vision for the association.

Joining the Membership Committee is a unique opportunity to help shape the organization and build a sense of fellowship and cooperation among members. We’re always looking for new ideas to connect members and expand our geologic community.

The Membership Committee will meet for the first time in 2026 on Thursday, January 15th, at 12:00 PM. Join us, and bring your ideas for RMAG events along with your passion for connecting geologists.
