Behind the Scenes Paleontology Tour
Denver Museum of Nature and Science
Wednesday February 4, 2026
3:30 - 4:30 pm
Two noted paleontologists with the Denver Museum of Nature and Science, Dr. David Krause and Dr. Gussie Mccracken, will captivate us with a tour, lectures, and fossil specimens that showcase their amazing world class research. You will visit the lab area where the newest, spectacular dinosaur find, a Triceratops skull, is being prepared, coupled with a brief overview of the specimen’s history and its significance. Then the tour will proceed to the Collections area to see the unique sequence of Paleogene plant fossils found in Colorado, as well as some of the strange Late Cretaceous fossils related to plate tectonic and biogeographic history of Madagascar and Gondwana.
