The Mountain Geologist
Published since 1964, the Mountain Geologist is the quarterly journal of the Rocky Mountain Association of Geologists (RMAG). Issues are published in January, April, July and October of each year. The Mountain Geologist circulates to the 2200-plus members of the RMAG and about 200 university libraries and industrial associates.
A regionally oriented peer-reviewed publication, the Mountain Geologist focuses on the geology of the Rocky Mountain area of the U.S. Topics from outside the region, however, are of interest to the readership when they bear on problems relating to those in Rocky Mountain geology. The range of topics presented in Mountain Geologist articles covers almost every sub-discipline in the geosciences: stratigraphy, paleontology, structural geology, mining and petroleum geology, hydrogeology, geophysics, and geochemistry. Authors from industry and academia are represented equally. Inquiries regarding suitability of topics should be addressed to Barbara Luneau at bluneau@denver.oilfield.slb.com
or by calling the RMAG office at 303-573-8621.
Manuscript submission:
Authors should submit three hardcopies of their double-spaced manuscripts in accordance with the Mountain Geologist Style Guide (see downloadable Acrobat file, MGSTYLE.pdf). The average turnaround from manuscript submission to publication is about one year. Manuscripts should be sent to:
