The Rocky Mountain Association of Geologists Foundation will again this year grant an award to a graduate student at Colorado School of Mines. The award's purpose is to support geologic studies in the Rocky Mountains and to reward excellence in geologic achievement. The scholarship was underwritten this year by John and Erica Lockridge.
The following criteria will be used to select one recipient from CSM:
- Relevance of the student’s research to Rocky Mountain geology
- Academic achievements
- Economic need
- Faculty recommendations
Applications for the RMAG Foundation Graduate Student Award must include:
- A résumé, with GPA and GRE information
- A thesis proposal (two pages or less) with financial support and needs listed
- Recommendation letters from appropriate Faculty
Applications must be submitted to the Department Head, who will forward them to the Foundation. The Trustees of the Foundation will make the final selection.
Application deadline is April.
The recipient, with one other person selected by the recipient, will be guests of the Foundation at a Friday Luncheon meeting of the Rocky Mountain Association of Geologists in late April or early May. A short presentation will be made to the recipient during the meeting.
